Honestly it is personal preference, we ride with a 300lb guy who won races on a stock engined Superjet. I prefer the playfulness of a Superjet, but you can’t deny the SXR’s power and speed. Really comes down to what you want to do with the ski, go fast, or play.

Welcome! You should learn how to ride a regular ski before buying a freestyle ski. They are “one-trick ponies” and it would be a heartbreaker to spend $15k and not like how wobbly and slippery they ride.

I have been watching your videos and more on Stand Up Jet Skis. I want to get into it however there are a lot of unknowns for me when it comes to Jet-Skis. I am more interested in the freestyle skis. Just wanted to learn more about it and I figured you guys could help. I have some questions as to what constitutes a ski as “freestyle” I know there are some parts that have to be put in place for competitions and such. Realistically I would like to buy one stock that can be used outright for light-moderate freestyle usage before I start pumping money into it. Is there skis out there that you can buy for this or do they have to be modded for the ability to jump and flip? Please let me know what you think about all of this, I know it is a lot but I just don’t want to get into something only to spend thousands of more dollars to get a ski to where I want it.
Thanks,
Colton

Comment on Guide to Buying a Used Stand Up Jet Ski by Seth https://ridestandups.net/2019/06/01/used-stand-up/#comment-6 Thu, 06 Jun 2019 12:23:13 +0000 https://ridestandups.com/?p=327#comment-6 One other thing I think is worth noting, If you are looking at a ski for the first time it is worth while to give the engine a good tug in every direction. This will quickly expose a loose or broken motor mount! This is a fairly in depth repair considering everything involved and can cost you some $$$ off top so keep it in mind.
